Arion Orchestre Baroque and its artistic director Mathieu Lussier will be bringing to life French, Swiss and German Christmas by Michel-Richard Delalande and Michel Corrette, as well as rarely heard works by Nicolas Chédeville and Bonaventure Gilles, in an original and varied musical programme featuring recorder, oboe and hurdy-gurdy. A suite by Colin de Blamont, dedicated to the Saturnalia, the Roman Christmas festivities, rounds off a colourful and virtuosic seasonal programme featuring Tobie Miller (fiddle), Vincent Lauzer (recorder) and Matthew Jennejohn (oboe).
The CHD welcomes the Quebec orchestra Arion, who will be performing a selection of popular baroque carols. A festive, colourful and original concert that showcases the talent of the instrumentalists in this ensemble, considered to be one of the best in North America.
