A self-taught cartoonist and scriptwriter who also teaches history and geography, Mathieu is the co-author of several Rues de Lyon, the magazine of the L'Épicerie séquentielle collective, and the collective album Les héroïnes lyonnaises, published by Lyon Capitale. He won the Yves Chaland prize for his album, L'Évasion, released in June 2021, which tells the extraordinary story of the escape of resistance fighter André Devigny from Montluc prison. He runs historical fiction workshops in schools and colleges.
