Juliette Gauthier
Mezzo soprano
Juliette Gauthier, mezzo-soprano, is currently a member of the Académie Favart at the Opéra Comique and is also completing her studies at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris in Alain Buet's class. She also trained with Léa Sarfati and Chantal Mathias, and took part in a number of masterclasses with Dame Felicity Lott, Iñaki Encina Oyon, Irène Kudela, Benoît Dratwicki, Chantal Santon, Hervé Niquet, Véronique Gens, Johannes Pramsohler, Mathieu Pordoy and Karine Deshayes. She won the Génération Opéra prize at the Concours international de chant baroque de Froville in September 2022 and was one of 10 singers selected to take part in the concert organised at the Studio Bastille as part of the Génération Opéra concert audition. She is the 2023 winner of the Bourse Menda awarded by the Opéra Comique and the Fondation de France.
Juliette began her musical studies on the violin, but soon moved on to the piano, graduating from the Créteil Conservatoire in Jacqueline Bourgès-Maunoury's class. At an early age, she developed a passion for singing and joined the Vincennes choir school, then the Département Supérieur pour Jeunes Chanteurs at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Paris, before joining the C.N.S.M.D.P. at the age of 19.
