A new page is turning for the Concert de l'Hostel Dieu: the Metropole and the City of Lyon have decided to entrust us with the management and organisation of the Chapelle de la Trinité, one of Lyon's architectural Baroque jewels.
With the ambition of offering a renewed vision of the Baroque repertoire, we have chosen to invite local players in the performing arts to join us, as well as international partners and artists whose spirit of openness we share and which has characterised us since the founding of our orchestra.
One of these is the Superspectives festival, whose activities, dedicated to contemporary music, previously took place at the Maison de Lorette on the hillsides of Fourvière. Superspectives will have a special place in the project, as we will be invited to join in and share in the programming choices, blending the baroque repertoire with contemporary aesthetics.
Together, we have decided to create a new entity, which, in a collaborative spirit, will manage the artistic activities of the Chapelle de la Trinité: the Lyon Trinité Musique association. Under the chairmanship of Jacques de Chilly, this new entity will be steered by a Strategic Committee made up of Camille Rhonat and François Mardirossian (co-founders of Superspectives), Camille Chabanon (formerly General Administrator of the Concert de l'Hostel Dieu) and Franck-Emmanuel Comte as Artistic Director.
At the heart of the programme will be concerts by our orchestra, which will be in residence, as well as musical offerings from the finest French and European baroque ensembles. For this first season, we will be welcoming le Poème Harmonique, les Folies Françaises, les Pages et les Chantres du Centre de Musique baroque de Versailles, Montreal's Arion Orchestra, the Helsinki Baroque Orchestra, A Nocte Temporis, the Kapsber'girls, and many others...
All the concerts for the 2024-2025 season of the Concert de l'Hostel Dieu will therefore take place in the Chapelle de la Trinité from November (with the exception of the Un Angelo del Paradiso and Prima Donna concerts). The programme has now been released and can be found on the Trinité website: trinitelyon.com
