Nicolas Janot

Nicolas Janot studied at the CNR in Lyon and then at the Conservatoire Supérieur de Paris, where he was awarded first prize for double bass in 1994. He holds a certificate of proficiency in double bass, and teaches double bass at theENM de Villeurbanne where he is in charge of conducting 3rd cycle orchestras. He plays regularly with the Orchestre de Paris and the Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse, as well as with the Ensemble Orchestral Contemporain.
His musical activity has enabled him to play internationally in countries such as Japan, China, Korea, Brazil, Canada, Russia, Sweden, New Caledonia and all the European countries under the direction of prestigious conductors (E. Krivine, S. Cambrelain, G. solti, C. Eshenbach, T. Sokiev, P. Jarvi...). In early music, he plays with Le Concert de l'Hostel Dieu, the ensemble Sprezatura and the Mercure Galant.
