Benoit Morel studied the cello at conservatories in Paris and Lyon with P. Bary, A. Lefebvre, P. Gabard and H. Metzger. A musician with a love of eclecticism, he travelled to the heart of different repertoires intended for his instrument and deepened his knowledge of the expressive qualities of the cello and of this music, immersing himself in both ancient or romantic repertoires and in current or contemporary musical experiments. He currently teaches at the Conservatoire de Lyon to enrich his thinking about music and its transmission.
